Time Travel - April 18, 2005
Unpacking my college things took 10 minutes. I still have at least 5 boxes of things to unpack (mostly books) from the move. I started tackling the box in my closet and came across this journal. Of course I had to stop everything, sit on the floor, and reminisce. And, oh God, did I reminisce. This diary documents some really great times. I just thought the world needs to be exposed to the mind of 7th-grade Julie. All original grammar and spelling follows:
This pen has a lion on it. I stole it from Mom’s suitcase. I like it.
This week is spring break. It’s Monday right now, so so far it’s been good. I got a Le Tigre shirt AND sweatshirt yesterday. Which is pointless because its finally Spring, and hot. I actually wore shorts today. I spent most of the day at Kelly’s house. I woke up at 12. Last night I went to bed at 4. Great idea for my fanfic. I love it. Let’s just say I wrote about 4 front-and-back pages, and I started at 11 something.
Well, anyway, back to today. Kelly and I were swinging. Her swing-set is like ours and is coming out of the ground. It was scary. Every time we went high, I would scream because the actual swing set would go like 2 feet in the air. I swear it almost tipped over. We kicked our shoes off (flip-flops) while swinging. Mine went farther. We just had no way of getting them back without our feet getting dirty. Kelly tried this weird move onto the middle swing and fell to the ground. It was the funniest thing I saw in my life. Of course she was wearing a skirt, which made it 10 times better. We just ended up getting our feet dirty to get our shoes. Kelly then decided we should clean our feet off with the hose. In doing this, we obviously got our shoes all wet and our feet dirtier. We just went inside and Kelly cleaned her shoes in the sink, which made the sink dirty, so she had to clean the sink, and I just laughed. We decided to let our shoes dry and do other stuff. We talked to Moony on Kelly’s laptop. We had a great conversation. Kelly and I fought over who got to type a few times, and Moony constantly talked about The Outsiders. She always does. Kelly can’t take it. At one point Kelly went crazy. She was eating fruit snacks. She was kinda like the people on The Fairly Odd Parents, when Timmy wishes that they had dessert for every meal. We actually had just watched that earlier. Timmy had a whole school day in 3 minutes. People liked to run marathons and talk really fast. After 28 days, everyone becomes obese and instead of walking, they roll. It was incredibly funny. Anyway, I was giving Moony the play-by-play. Kelly poked me, hid behind a bush, fell off her chair, and did millions of other crazy things. She calmed down after doing enough things for me to need therapy. Later we watched Raise Your Voice, the movie with Hilary Duff. It’s really stupid, but the dude from Joan of Arcadia is her brother. Kevin. His name is Paul in the movie. He dies. Her name is Terry in the movie, and she’s afraid of bright lights. Her dad is manly and talks funny. The best person is Jay. He’s this incredibly hott guy. He’s incredibly hott. I love him. Jay’s confusing, though. His accent is British/Australian/American when he sings. He’s supposed to be British, but I think he’s more Aussie-ish. The best part is when Jay gets drunk. The movie is supposed to be serious, but we were uncontrollably laughing. There’s a dude named Kiwi. He’s really hyper. Kiwi is a cool name. It’s a new day. You were AWESOME! You have to see this movie, journal, because you have no thoughts, feelings, or the ability to move. You are so a person.
